Lifestyle newborn sessions like this one allow us to document those early days of your new baby’s life, freezing moments in time for you to cherish forever. These sessions are available in the North Bay area at a discounted price point, OR in the comfort of your own home in Barrie, Midland, Penetanguishene, Gravenhurst or Huntsville.
These sessions are best done while baby is between 5-21 days of age, and are best booked while you are still expecting (although if baby has arrived and you’d like to book, I can accommodate last minute requests, so don’t be afraid to reach out!)
Documentary Lifestyle sessions are also ideal for those families who have missed that first-few-weeks window of new baby’s life for whatever reason, and now have an older baby but would still like to capture this fleeting time.

One of the most common inquiries I receive is “do you travel for newborn sessions?” Over the years since I moved away from Barrie, I have received countless messages telling me that I need to come back to photograph a family’s new baby. I’m so excited to finally say that this is a possibility!

Available in Barrie, Orillia, Midland, Penetanguishene, Gravenhurst and Huntsville; you can choose between either my Classic Studio Style or Documentary Lifestyle options to match whatever your vision is for your session. I will bring everything that’s needed to create timeless art pieces so you don’t need to worry about a thing.

It’s about time I start sharing some of the many newborn galleries from sessions I did back in the Winter! I met with Pierce and his adorable family back in February in my studio when he was just days old. They were all amazing – I was especially thrilled with how excited his big brother was to give him snuggles while smiling for my camera!
Just a little booking update that I have VERY limited availability for this Fall season – with no availability in October. I am currently accepting the following due dates:
September – 2 (with possible arrivals no later than the week of September 17th) all sessions must happen before September 28th.
October – None.
November – 3
December – 1 due date, early to mid month only

Ethan’s Cake Smash | Barrie Baby, Child, & Family Photographer
As I gear up to meet this sweet family again next week for their annual family portraits, I realized that I never blogged little Ethan’s first birthday portraits! I mean, he just turned two last month so I’m only a LITTLE behind the ball on this one, right!? 😛
I’ve had the honour of working with this family since big brother was just a teeny little guy and was thrilled to be able to document Ethan’s maternity and newborn portraits (which you can see HERE) as well.
Last year, his Mama asked me for a super simple cake smash (my absolute FAVOURITE) and I was so thrilled with how it turned out! Nikita | Barrie Pet Photographer
Losing a pet is hard. It’s been three months now since my Reese crossed the Rainbow Bridge, and I’ve been missing her so much. Thinking about her lately has brought me back to another sweet girl that I was so glad to have met over a year ago now, on her very last day. Nikita was such a sweet old gal, who was very unwell. I met with her and her humans early in the morning on her very last day, and to say that this session tugged on my heartstrings would be an understatement. This session left me downright brokenhearted.
People commission me to photograph their pets for a variety of reasons… one of them is to memorialize their loyal companions at the end of their lives. It’s never easy for anyone, but it is my hope that having these moments to look back on can help bring peace. Losing a pet is like losing a friend, and the pain that humans feel when I help them to document these very last hours and days is always palpable. I remember sitting in my car when this session was over and letting myself have tears for their pain. Creating their gallery, I was so happy with just how beautiful the images of Nikita turned out – my greatest hope was that they would help heal their pain over time.
I didn’t realize just how powerful these images were until I entered one into an International Competition and it became a Finalist in the Passion Portraits category out of hundreds of thousands of entries.
Meet Nikita, her eyes will show you just what a kind, brave, loyal and beautiful soul that she was.

I thought I should maybe blog this sweet newborn session from last Fall before I see this family again next month for Jack’s half-year Sitter Milestone session!
I saw little Jack and his family in my Barrie photography studio last November for his newborn session when he was just days old. I had such a streak of luck that week with amazing older siblings giving me absolute GOLD when it came to sibling newborn portraits, and these two brothers were no exception.
Newborn portraits are some of my absolute favourite moments to photograph – they’re only this little once, the time is so fleeting, and by the time you see your images for the first time, they’ve already changed so much! I currently have just TWO newborn spaces left for the Summer. If you’re expecting in July or August and would like to secure a date for yourself, please do so before baby has been born so that I can guarantee you space in my calendar. 🙂

Lawson | Barrie Newborn Baby Photographer
Up on the blog today is Lawson! I met him back in December, and was pretty pumped when his Dad showed up with a guitar and a drum set to photograph him on! After all, even before photography captured my heart – music was my first love. There’s nothing quite like picking up an instrument and losing yourself in the music – it used to be therapeutic for me. Which is actually exactly how I ended up feeling about photography, eventually! So to have the opportunity to create a photographic art piece using an instrument made me pretty happy! 🙂
