Lifestyle newborn sessions like this one allow us to document those early days of your new baby’s life, freezing moments in time for you to cherish forever. These sessions are available in the North Bay area at a discounted price point, OR in the comfort of your own home in Barrie, Midland, Penetanguishene, Gravenhurst or Huntsville.
These sessions are best done while baby is between 5-21 days of age, and are best booked while you are still expecting (although if baby has arrived and you’d like to book, I can accommodate last minute requests, so don’t be afraid to reach out!)
Documentary Lifestyle sessions are also ideal for those families who have missed that first-few-weeks window of new baby’s life for whatever reason, and now have an older baby but would still like to capture this fleeting time.

Booking is NOW OPEN for the second Kids Christmas Mini event of the season, “Twinkle, Twinkle Christmas Star”! This is a perfect opportunity to capture some festive memories and create beautiful portraits of your children and/or pets just in time for you to create your holiday cards! This set features a a rustic holiday theme with Christmas trees, garland, glittery gold stars, and twinkling lights. Clients are encouraged to bring a favourite teddy bear or stuffy AND/OR a favourite Christmas book to incorporate into their session. Dress up in golds, creams, denim, reds, or greens to compliment this set OR wear some stylish Christmas jammies!

My Girls | Barrie Child and Pet Photographer
Last night, I was was on my way home with my dog from our usual evening walk, and the view of the sun setting behind my house took my breath away. The way it was filtering through the trees – I had just never looked at my very own back yard as a backdrop for portraits before… I ran into the house, told my daughter to get on her dress and grab the kitten because we were headed out back for photos, like, NOW. Thankfully, she complied and within 5 minutes, I had these images that I now want to wallpaper my house with!
I’d had this in my head since the day we brought Chloe home, but I didn’t know how I’d make it happen because I didn’t want to trek her out to the middle of my field and risk losing her. Who knew, I just had to open my eyes and see the beauty in my very own back yard… a pretty big lesson on so many levels…

Ethan’s Cake Smash | Barrie Baby, Child, & Family Photographer
As I gear up to meet this sweet family again next week for their annual family portraits, I realized that I never blogged little Ethan’s first birthday portraits! I mean, he just turned two last month so I’m only a LITTLE behind the ball on this one, right!? 😛
I’ve had the honour of working with this family since big brother was just a teeny little guy and was thrilled to be able to document Ethan’s maternity and newborn portraits (which you can see HERE) as well.
Last year, his Mama asked me for a super simple cake smash (my absolute FAVOURITE) and I was so thrilled with how it turned out! The Fine Art Collection Launch | Barrie Pet & Child Photographer
I can’t even tell you how excited I am to finally make this happen! The wheels have been turning on the Fine Art Collection for years now. I have always wanted to create a more luxurious, timeless, classic, evocative line of portraits. The first time someone contacted me and asked to commission my services for “just one portrait”, I thought “well, that’s not how I work…” and that left me sitting there scratching my head and wondering “Do people REALLY want JUST ONE great portrait?” Turns out, the answer is “YES” they do.
Once upon a time (in like, the olden days) 😛 Photographers were commissioned to create portraits. They didn’t host the more lifestyle/candid sessions that we’re so accustomed to nowadays thanks, in part, to digital technology (which I still love dearly, but this is something completely different) – they had “sittings” and the photographs they created were timeless and became heirloom pieces that were passed on for generations. I am in possession of more than one commissioned portrait of grandparents and great-grandparents, and I’ve got to tell you, they are some of our most treasured heirlooms.
I want to bring that service back with a modern spin. When I first started planning for this launch, it was my intention to launch in the Pet Division first (hence why you’ll see more fine art images of pets than the non-furry variety at this time)… but then as I started posting the teaser images, more and more people started contacting me asking if I could photograph their children (and families!) in this style as well. So, as a result, I am excited to be officially launching The Fine Art Collection service today, and offering an AMAZING launch discount to both fur-babies AND my human clients to try out at 50% off (limited spaces available, must be booked during the two weeks listed below.

Lawson | Barrie Newborn Baby Photographer
Up on the blog today is Lawson! I met him back in December, and was pretty pumped when his Dad showed up with a guitar and a drum set to photograph him on! After all, even before photography captured my heart – music was my first love. There’s nothing quite like picking up an instrument and losing yourself in the music – it used to be therapeutic for me. Which is actually exactly how I ended up feeling about photography, eventually! So to have the opportunity to create a photographic art piece using an instrument made me pretty happy! 🙂

I have been working with this adorable family since big sister was just a year old, and it’s been an absolute honour to help document all of these children along the way. In the Clouds Mini Event | Barrie Baby and Child Photographer
Booking is NOW OPEN for this brand new themed Mini Event in June! If you have a little dreamer – a whimsical little being who would love to sit in the clouds and gaze at the stars and maybe even throw some glitter around, then these are for you!
When? Friday June 8, 2018 AND Saturday June 9, 2018 from 10am-2pm
Where? Raindance Photography’s Home Studio in Barrie, Ontario
What’s Included? Each package includes your 20 minute session, private in-person ordering appointment (2-3 weeks after your session), 3 digital files of your choice via digital download, and a matching set of 5×7 colour prints. Options to purchase additional digital files or product are available to those who would like to do so.
How Much? $150+HST (169.50 total) due on booking via Square (credit card), Email Money Transfer, or PayPal.
Are there any restrictions? These sessions are perfect for babies who are sitting unassisted as well as children up to 10 years of age (if you think your older kiddo would be into it though, then please don’t hesitate to sign up!) Each session fee covers siblings from ONE IMMEDIATE FAMILY ONLY. If more than one family would like portraits of their children together, each family is required to submit $150+hst. This is to ensure that there is enough time available to capture group, sibling, and individual portraits of each child from each family.
