Everyone wants to win something, and I don’t often give away free creative portrait sessions, but I’m desperately trying to raise as much money as I can for a fantastic cause! 🙂
I am so proud to be part of a network of amazing photographers in this area who, each year, donate their time and talent to help raise money, toys, and food for those less fortunate.
My business model is unique in this region, being one of only a few professional photographers who offer Custom Pet Portraiture. As such, my “Giving Back” service to my community is to raise as much money as I can each year to a deserving local animal rescue.
This year, I have chosen to support Street Cats Rescue. Of the original 42 timeslots that were available on Saturday November 25th, 21 still remain. I want to fill them ALL so that I can give as much as possible to this amazing organization!
So, I’m offering a wee incentive to fill those remaining timeslots! I am going to be giving away TWO Creative Portrait packages (valued at $375+hst each) to be used in 2018!
There are two ways to win:
1. Anyone who donates and signs up for the event will be entered into a draw, which I will do live once all spots are filled. (Yes, this also applies to those already booked). Studio Family Sessions | Barrie Family and Child Photographer
Well, it’s that time of year when my outdoor work wraps up and I move the show into the studio for the Winter months. I just did my very last outdoor family session of the year tonight, which is just as well because it was COLD out there, and me and cold don’t really mix. 😛
Family sessions during the colder months are for those clients who adore a more clean, classic portrait. They might be for you if you’re looking for a studio-style family portrait that will stand the test of time above your fireplace and on your walls. My studio can accommodate families up to 7 individuals in size, and pets are always welcome!
2018 Pricing is now in effect, so please feel free to have a peek around this website, and Contact Me if you have any questions at all or would like to book your session! I book Monday-Friday between 10am-2pm, but do have the odd evening timeslot available for those of you who cannot make it during weekday hours. 🙂

2nd Annual Pet Photo Event Fundraiser | Barrie Pet Photographer
If you’re a pet owner, you know that a pet is more than just a random animal roaming around your house. They are your friend and companion, they know when you’re feeling sad, upset, or scared; they motivate you and love you without judgment. Their mere presence is therapeutic.
My love for animals and intense desire to help other people prompted the launch of The Raindance Photography Pet Division, so that everyone can have beautiful heirloom portraits of their beloved fur babies too!
This year, a new puppy joined our family. As a result, I spent an astronomical amount of time at PetSmart… If you’ve ever been to PetSmart, you’ve probably seen those cages full of sweet kitties in the Adoption Room, who stare soulfully into your eyes, just tugging at the heart strings. If my daughter wasn’t allergic, I probably would have brought home at least 30 of them by now, but since I can’t, this year I wanted to hold this fundraiser in support of Street Cats (one of the amazing rescues that has cats for adoption at PetSmart.)
I am excited to be holding the 2nd annual all-day mini event devoted to Pets only! Every single penny raised will be donated to the Street Cats Rescue to help them care for all of the furry friends who are currently waiting for their forever homes.

Street Cats Rescue is currently in need of financial donations as well as donations of the following items:
- Kitty Litter, clumping
- Food (kibble and canned)
- Cat Carrying Cages
- Paper towels
- Javex, dish soap, laundry soap, garbage bags, white vinegar
If you bring in one of these items in addition to your $40 Creative Fee, you will automatically receive an 8×10 print of your pet as well! Also, anyone who participates in this event can enter to win a mini family photo session of their family in the Spring! Why did I choose Street Cats this year? Because they’re awesome, they work tirelessly for the benefit of these animals, and they deserve our help. Here’s why…
“Street Cats Rescue is a non- profit organization with registered charity status serving Simcoe County and surrounding areas. We are staffed 100% by volunteers, receive no government funding and rely solely on fundraising, donations and community support to continue our work. All money raised goes directly back to the care and comfort of the cats i.e. veterinary bills, rent, heat, hydro, food, supplies, etc.
Street Cats Rescue has a “no kill” policy. We advocate humane euthanasia only for terminally ill animals and/or animals where quality of life has been severely compromised with no hope of improvement.
Street Cats consists of physical shelter as well as a large network of foster homes. In both areas we utilize techniques and protocols that keep illness and stress levels to a minimum. We strive to get to know each cat’s unique personality which makes finding the right adoptive home that much easier. All cats are vet checked, treated for parasites and illness as needed. Prior to adoption each cat is vaccinated, fixed and microchipped. We advocate pediatric spay/neuter so even kittens are fixed prior to adoption.
Our adoption screening process consists of an application/interview. Our adoption protocols are designed to “put the right cat into the right home.” We are not driven by adoption numbers but rather we endeavour to ensure each adoption is a “good” one.
Street Cats also advocates and practices TNR (trap, neuter, return) rescue methods for feral cats.”

7th Annual Studio Christmas Minis | Barrie Child Photographer
I am SO excited that my new studio is finally slated for completion just in time for this event! The 7th Annual Studio Christmas Mini Event is now open for booking! This year’s backdrop will feature a pure, white set with a tree and beautiful fireplace with timeless decoration that is sure to suit anyone’s home decor. These sessions are fabulous for Holiday Cards and Christmas gifts as well.

$150+HST (due on booking) includes:
- 15 minute session

*These sessions are for kids, but this year there is an option to add in one quick family photo at the beginning of your session. 🙂

I loooooooved this session! This session is the PERFECT example of how wardrobe choice can turn your session into something MAGICAL! When these guys showed up to our location and stepped out of their vehicle, I just about died with excitement when I saw what they were wearing! I’ve been dying to share their gallery with you, as it is one of my absolute favourites.

I think the best part of being a Professional Photographer is getting to snuggle all of the brand spanking new bundles of joy that come my way! They’re pretty much always 14 days old or less – they don’t get much newer than that!
A few months back, I had the opportunity to meet this sweet gal – 5ish pounds of the sweetest little baby girl you ever did see. She was such an angel for her session, and I LOVE how her gallery turned out!
This Fall, I have a few more spaces left on my calendar for newborn sessions. I have more newborns than usual this season (yay!) and even a few sets of multiples in the line up! If you are expecting between now and December (keeping in mind that I am closed for the last two weeks of December for the Holidays), please Contact Me soon to reserve your timeslot to avoid disappointment. Sadly, I refer more newborns out to other photographers at this time of year because my calendar is so jam packed than any other time of year. The Pet Division | Barrie Pet Photographer
I have always loved animals. As a child, I grew up with what we liked to refer to as “a zoo”, consisting of a variety of animals including dogs, cats, hamsters, lizards, an iguana named Iggy, fish, a hermit crab and a really really big snake (pretty sure it was a Python).
As a professional photographer, my focus has always been babies, children, and their families (which I love dearly and will still continue to specialize in), but as time went on, I found myself being pulled in a direction that I didn’t originally anticipate – more and more people were contacting me to photograph their pets. After starting to dive into the world of custom pet portraiture, I fell in love! Custom Pet Portraiture is so much more than just turning your beloved pet into art. For me, it is about capturing the personality, quirks and all, of your furry companion so that as the years pass by, no matter what the future has in store, you will be able to look back on these moments and remember this time in their lives.
Maybe they’re brand new – still tiny, sleepy, squishy, and ready to explore the big new world around them. Maybe they’re an established member of the family, and you want to capture that special bond between your fur-baby and the other members of your family. Or, maybe your pet has spent their entire lifetime with you, giving you years of love, devotion, and companionship and you want to capture their spirit and what’s left of that sparkle in their eye – to celebrate them and pay tribute to the wonderful life you’ve shared together…

It’s that time of year again! Tree Farm Family Minis are now open to the public! There are only TWO timeslots left at this time, so if you want in, act fast!
Sessions are taking place at the Tree Farm in Thornton, Ontario on Saturday September 23rd, 2017. I am so incredibly proud to have achieved this professional designation through APNPI (Accredited Professional Newborn Photographers International). I have always been passionate about advocating for newborn safety during sessions. Over the years, I have made an effort to try and educate new parents on the importance of doing their research and choosing a Professional Photographer who can not only deliver a beautiful gallery of quality images, but also handle their brand new baby confidently and safely as a result of knowledge of newborn anatomy and physiology and years of experience and training.
