I have thought long and hard about this decision, and it physically pains me – especially considering my beautiful new studio is literally JUST finally finished and ready for business! You all know what I’m about to say, by this point, I’m sure…
While I sit here fretting about how I will pay my bills (as far as I can see, at this point, self-employed folks like me aren’t getting anything in the way of financial relief or assistance) it’s not lost on me that my children are worried – not about money – and their worries are the most important thing right now. When I put my daughter to bed for the last bunch of nights, her typically happy-go-lucky, not-a-care-in-the-world little face has had traces of anxiety peeking through. Unfortunately, she’s part of the “higher risk” population, and we’ve had to explain to her a little more about why she needs to be extra careful, as a result. I can tell that she’s trying not to let it get to her, but when she goes to bed at night, I can see it weighing on her little mind.
For her, and for people like her, I will be temporarily closing my doors, and doing my part to encourage “social distancing” until further notice. All bookings that were on my March calendar have been postponed, and no further bookings will be accepted until it’s safe to do so. I’m happy to book people in for sessions 2-3 months from now, and am not taking deposits for those bookings at this time. I am finishing up all of the retouching for sessions that happened before this pandemic was announced, and I will be offering online downloads of files for those folks until they feel comfortable picking up their packages.
I thank you all for your support and understanding. This closure is temporary, and I cannot WAIT to open my doors again (hopefully soon!)
