Wow. Anyone else looking back at their 2019 right now wondering what the heck just happened? Seriously though, WHAT a year it has been for me and my little photography business! I generally pride myself in my ability to keep my personal and work lives separate, but that became a pretty difficult thing to do this year, as I packed up my life, family, and business and moved to a whole new town, where we set straight to building an addition on our new home – transforming it into both a studio and multigenerational living space (yes folks, my parents are moving in!) Looking back, I can only sit here, biting my fingernails just hoping that my stress levels weren’t too obvious to my clients! LOL! 😛
It isn’t easy, saying farewell to a loyal client base and rebuilding a business all over again in a new place. I quickly learned that it feels a little like the first day of school as a child all over again… except now I’m a grown up and have forgotten how socially awkward I am at these things.
As challenging as 2019 was, on so many levels, I am grateful for the opportunity I have been given to meet some amazing new people and begin great new friendships along the way. Thank you, to everyone I’ve had the pleasure of working with this year. I know it’s tough to choose to hire a photographer who’s in the midst of such profound personal and professional change, but so many of you still chose me, and for that, I am truly grateful. 🙂
I am excited to move forward and continue growing my business in the Callander/North Bay area in 2020, as my studio chugs slowly towards completion. I have so many mini events planned and will have an awesome Grand Opening Offering as soon as my new space is ready for business! In the meantime, my little mobile studio is busy travelling to clients in their homes for both studio-style and lifestyle sessions.
To my fabulous Barrie clients, I will be releasing my 2020 Availability for your area next week for early-bird booking, watch for it!
