I recently photographed this gorgeous family at The Beach here in Barrie. They were the second last session of the summer before school started again, and I couldn’t believe how much the girls had grown over the last year! I have been fortunate enough to be photographing this family for a while now, and have absolutely loved watching them grow!
The weather is starting to change, and I think my remaining days at the beach this year are numbered, so I’m enjoying them while I can! The Boate Family | Barrie Family and Child Photographer
Since I’m really excited about the imminent changing of the leaves and the onset of Fall colours, I thought I’d share with you a session from last year that I never did have a chance to share earlier! I met up with the Boate Family one chilly Fall evening to update their family portraits. The leaves last year took their time changing colours, but luckily there was SOMETHING for us to work with on that particular evening! 🙂 There’s just something about throwing around dead leaves that brings kids and adults alike so much JOY! 😛

The Falco Family | Barrie Family and Child Beach Photographer
I have had the great privilege of watching this family grow since little Benny was still in his Mama’s belly… he is now TWO! I met up with this family last month to help document Benny’s second birthday as well as update their family portraits. What a crazy day that day was. Just before leaving for the session, we discovered my son’s beloved hamster, Speckles, had gone up to heaven, and during his very hasty but heartfelt funeral (lol) the sky began to darken as the clouds rolled in. Having already needed to reschedule our session once due to the threat of rain, there was no way we were going to let Mother Nature win again! So out we ventured, the temperature dropped and it began to drizzle, and like the troopers they all are, they all gave me their best throughout their session anyway! I love how this gallery turned out and cannot WAIT to see the wall art that we created together up on their walls!

Back in June, I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely family. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny evening and the girls were so sweet and cooperative. I just loved being able to freeze so many sweet moments in time for them to look back on and treasure forever! I loved this session so much, and am excited to share it with you all today. 🙂

The Falco Family | Barrie Baby, Child, and Family Photographer
I know it’s only March… I know we didn’t really have THAT long of a winter… but I’m about to throw a child-sized tantrum because I want to be outdoors shooting in the gorgeous, comforting warmth of summer! I want to smell flowers and swat away mosquitos, and chase sweaty little children and their families around a field in the setting, golden sunlight because that’s what I LOVE!
Ok… end pity party. 😛 Instead, I will share a favourite session from last Fall with one of my favourite families ever! I’ve been working with them for a very long time, and love every opportunity that I have to capture their awesome personalities!

The Elliott Family | Barrie Family and Child Photographer
I’ve been on a mission to blog every single day in an effort to share most of the gorgeous families, children, and babies that I have had the pleasure of working with over the last year. I was so busy in the Summer and Fall last year, that I never got the chance to share these, and it’d be a shame for them to go unshared, because well, these families are all BEAUTIFUL! 🙂
I met up with the Elliott Family last summer, and I’d like to say that it was a beautiful day, but it wasn’t really. It was a day kind of like today, cool and drizzly. We chose to go ahead with the session instead of rescheduling because the forecast was calling for a lull in rain. However, when we all showed up at The Meadow it was drizzling very slightly and by the looks on everyone’s faces I could tell that they’d rather just get back in their car and leave. 😛 However, we forged ahead, and eventually I could see the kids forgetting that they were chilly, their little personalities came shining through like we wished the sunshine would!
I loved how this session turned out, thanks to this family for trusting me to capture your precious memories two years in a row! 🙂

Summer Photo Sessions | Barrie Family Photographer
My email inbox has been flooded over the last few days with inquiries for family sessions for this summer, most people wondering “when should I book?” The answer to that question is: “Now!” 🙂
The other most frequently asked question is “What is your availability for outdoor family sessions?” ANSWER: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings at 5:45pm AND 6:45pm OR Monday-Friday at 9:30a.m.
I take only 8 sessions per month in order to dedicate the highest quality of service to each of my valued clients, so if you know that you’d like one of these Golden Hour timeslots, please email me to inquire or use the contact form on this page for more information.

Extended Family Session | Barrie Outdoor Family Photographer
As we brace ourselves for the storm of the century this evening (ok maybe I’m exaggerating… although 50 cm seems like a lot, so maybe I’m not…) 😛 I thought I would put out a blog on one of my favourite extended family sessions from one warm summer evening last year. Just looking through these images brings me back to the warmth of that evening, and I cannot WAIT to get out there again this year starting in May!
This particular session took place in The Arboretum (have a peek at my Shooting Locations page if you’re interested in booking a session to see the different locations available for what suits you best!)
I am now accepting outdoor bookings for outdoor golden hour family sessions starting in May on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 5:45 and 6:45pm. I’m typically booking up about a month to two months in advance right now so if you know you want on the calendar between May and September, I encourage you to contact me any time to secure your space in the calendar. I accept about 8 bookings per month during this time period.
