What To Expect


Before Your Session

Once you have decided to book your session with Raindance Photography, you can expect a fully customized experience, from the beginning to the end! Before you even step through our doors, we have processes in place to ensure that you are receiving the experience you want and the products you expect out of your portrait session.

Upon booking, you will be asked for your package preference. You will then be sent the appropriate booking contract and styling questionnaire to get the booking ball rolling! The contract outlines all terms and conditions and is designed to help you understand exactly what your package includes before committing to the transaction. Your styling questionnaire will gather information to help your photographer get a better idea about your vision, purpose, wants, and needs for your session. Your location and/or studio set colours will be determined based on your questionnaire responses.

Upon submission of your booking forms, your creative fees are due via PayPal, Square or EMT. All prices are subject to HST.

Once booking forms and fees have been received, you will be sent your preparation package to help your session go as smoothly as possible. You will be given a session date for your portraits.

A day or two prior to your session, you will receive a courtesy reminder email from your photographer. You may request your reminder to be sent via text message, for your convenience.


During Your Session

The day of your session will be laid back and fun! You can expect your session to last anywhere from 30 minutes (for milestone minis) to 1 hour (for full sessions) to 2-3 hours (for newborn sessions). At the end of your session, your photographer will discuss your Ordering Gallery with you, to ensure you are prepared.

After Your Session

Immediately following your session, you will be sent our “What to Expect Now” guide, which further outlines our behind-the-scenes process in a bit more detail, for your peace of mind. If you’ve given us permission to use images from your session in our portfolio, then a fun “sneak peek” from your session will be shared on our Instagram and Facebook accounts within 1-3 days of your session.

About 2-3 weeks after your session, your photographer will contact you to arrange a convenient time for you to view your Online Ordering Gallery and make selections. Online galleries are activated for a 24-hour time period before they expire, so you will work together with your photographer to ensure that you receive your gallery at the best possible time for you and any other decision makers.

Not all that tech-savvy? If the idea of having to order your images online makes your hands clammy, not to worry! Just ask for an “in-person ordering session” and we’d be more than happy to set this up for you and assist you through the process instead! In-person ordering is also a great option for those clients wishing to purchase anything from our carefully curated line of high-quality, boutique products.

Requests for additional online ordering galleries will incur a fee. Payment for all additional digital files, collections, or products purchased during your ordering process is due in full before orders are processed and placed with the lab. For your convenience, we accept cash, email money transfer (EMT), PayPal, and all major credit cards via Square.

After you’ve placed your order, you get to go home and dream about how BEAUTIFUL all of the art we’ve created together will look in your home! Your order will be ready for you in approximately 1-3 weeks (depending on the products you order and their in-lab turnaround times).
