Back in August, I had scheduled a whole bunch of mini sessions and they got rained out! Mother Nature and I have not been friends this year, which has made scheduling outdoor sessions quite difficult. Yesterday, however, could not have been nicer! The sun was shining and it was HOT! I had the privilege of working with 7 of the most well behaved babies and children ever. I will admit, I’m usually not a huge fan of mini sessions because they’re usually a gong show. I can’t spend as much time getting to know each child because of the short session time, but yesterday, it didn’t matter. They all showed up with their smiles on and were as cooperative as I could have hoped for!
I am now fully booked for September and am still accepting bookings for October. The only weekend timeslots I have left at this point are throughout the days on Saturday October 4th, and due to demand this year, I will be opening up Sunday October 5th for outdoor family sessions as well. If you’re interested in either of these dates, please send me an email to email@example.com to book. Packages and pricing can be found under the “Pricing” tab on this website.
And now, please enjoy some sneak peeks of all the cuties I got to work with yesterday! 😀
I met little Gavin back in June when his mom and dad brought him in for his newborn session. I could hardly get over how absolutely amazing his mom looked after just having a baby! I was on a roll that week with having some seriously awesome newborns in the studio and Gavin was no exception. He rolled through the entire session with no problem at all and I absolutely love how it turned out!
In case you missed my previous blog post on availability, I am now accepting newborn bookings from September to April, Monday-Friday, at 10am. If you’re interested in booking, please contact me now to reserve your space, especially in the Fall, as my schedule tends to book up much quicker during the months immediately prior to Christmas. (Photos ALWAYS make an awesome Christmas gift, dontcha know!?) 😉
I had the pleasure of working with little Mr. Bennett last month when he was only about a week old. To say that I LOVED this session would be an understatement. Bennett was a ROCKSTAR baby, posed like a regular little model, and his big brother was probably one of the cutest and cooperative toddlers I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Mom and dad were pretty awesome too! 😉
Thanks to mom and dad for bringing in your little family to work with me, I had an awesome time and hope you did too!
This little man was an absolute dream to work with! He came into my studio a little while back at the ripe old age of 4 weeks. He came into this world 7 weeks early, so by the time I got my hands on him, he still should have technically been baking for another 3 weeks!
As the summer begins to wind down, I’m looking forward to all of the newborn snuggling that comes with Baby Boom season in September. If you’ve yet to book your session, I’m now booking newborn sessions weekdays, Monday-Friday at 10am from September to April. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to book or check out my packages by clicking here.
As you will see by the multitude of images in this blog post, I am IN LOVE (although I could be a little biased based on the subjects) with this session! For the last few years, we’ve been getting my daughter together with her best friend to do a photo session with the two of them together. We’ll probably do this until they don’t want to any more, and I’m so glad that we do it, because it’s pretty amazing to watch them grow and change. This year they are 4. The transformation between the toddlerhood of the 3 year old to this new stage of being a “child” is unbelievable. We had so much fun doing this session with the “pixie dust”. I’m pretty sure the little gals thought it was magic, and the big girls had fun too! It was definitely worth the week it took me to get all of the sparkles out of her hair… 😉
This year, the girls have new “big sisters” as well! Both of our families (my daugther’s BFF as well as us) are hosting two lovely ladies from France for the summertime. They are helping us with our children, and in turn, we help them with their English. I owe a HUGE thank you to my girl, Soéli, for being with us this summer. Without her I wouldn’t have been able to accept any bookings and I’d be missing out BIG TIME on shooting outdoors during my most favourite time of year!
As you can see from these images, the kids absolutely adore their big sisters. They are only with us for another month and we’ll have to say goodbye. It will be a VERY sad day, indeed. I hope that they enjoy their time with us enough to want to come back again next summer!
Also, just a little booking reminder that I am fully booked for the remainder of the Summer months. I am now accepting bookings for September and onwards. If you know that you would like to book a session (especially for maternity and/or newborn sessions) please contact me now to reserve your space! And now, enjoy the biggest blog post I’ve posted in a long time… 😀
This is one summer that I never want to end. Maybe it’s because we had 7 frigid, awful months of Winter this year, or maybe it’s because I’m having far too much fun with all of these outdoor family sessions that I’ve been doing!
This is the second time I’ve had the pleasure of working with this family. This year, I didn’t anticipate that their kids would be nearly as cooperative as they were last year because they know me very well now. We’re on a first name basis. Our children are best of friends. My daughter swears that she’s going to marry the little man in this family (although he’s oblivious) and his sister doesn’t want to hear about it (it actually makes her angry!) lol! Cooperative, they were, though! Like perfect little models, doing exactly what I wanted them to do. I loved this session so much and it makes me a little teary to see how much they’ve grown since last year. They’re longer and leaner, and the baby fat is quickly disappearing.
I love summer, because it’s the time of year that families typically update their photos. Well, Summer and Fall are really great for that (so if you didn’t manage to squeeze into my summer calendar, which is now fully booked, contact me NOW so that you don’t miss out on the Fall season!)
I have been dying for the opportunity to share these images. Last month I was giddy with excitement to meet sweet baby Reid, then all of 7 days new. I had learned about him just a few weeks prior when my mom called to tell me that my cousins would be adopting him.
I knew immediately that I wanted to give them the gift of memories as their baby gift, as I couldn’t possibly think of another couple more deserving to welcome this sweet little man into their hearts.
Big huge congratulations again to mom and dad on their new baby! And thank you for bringing him in and trusting me to capture the most fleeting time in your new little guy’s life. He is absolutely, 100% perfect. It’s true what they say, “The best things in life are worth waiting for…”
I had the pleasure of meeting sweet Emersyn and her family last month to capture those fleeting newborn moments when she was just shy of 2 weeks old. I could pretend that all newborns who come to my studio are superbly cooperative, but that wouldn’t be completely accurate, and this occasion was no exception! This little gal made us work for it, and I’m pretty sure that every single one of us was in a sweat by the time it was over. When I was putting her gallery together later, though, it was amazing that she LOOKED like she’d been sweetly slumbering the entire time.
I love how this session turned out. Newborn sessions, by far, take the most effort and patience of any other type of session I offer, but they are also the most rewarding. I am now accepting newborn bookings on weekdays from May to November, space is always limited to 8 newborns per month, so if you know you’d like to book please contact me sooner rather than later to guarantee your timeslot.
And now, what you came for, pictures of squishy baby goodness!
I love maternity photography. It is absolutely something I wish that I did more of! I know that some women don’t want pictures of themselves while they’re pregnant because they feel “fat” or uncomfortable, or just generally un-beautiful. I get it, I’ve been there. The entire 9 months I was pregnant, there was NOTHING that felt glamourous about it. I threw up for the first 12 weeks, I didn’t quite look pregnant, but didn’t fit into any of my clothes for the second trimester, and then by the end I couldn’t see my feet, I’m pretty sure I had big hairy patches on my legs that I just couldn’t see to shave off, and my ankles were like tree trunks. Any time someone aimed a camera at me, I threatened to break it.
I did, however, have some maternity pictures done with both of my kids and let me tell you, as horrible as I thought that I looked at that point, I didn’t. I cherish those images more than so many others. Now that I’m done having babies, I look back longingly at those photos and wish that I could feel, just one more time, that little miracle moving inside my belly. Those images are all that I have to remember that time in my life now that it’s over. My children also love seeing those pictures. They get all excited and point to my belly and exclaim with wonder in their voices “was that ME in there!?”
That’s why I’m always so honoured to be able to capture this time in a woman’s life for her. To show her through someone else’s eyes how beautiful she really is, how much she really IS glowing even if she doesn’t feel like it. The session below is from a few weeks ago. This Mama was BEAUTIFUL! Her little bundle is due just about any day now, I can’t wait to meet him/her!
If you’ve been on the fence about maternity photos, just do them. I offer two options for maternity packages, as well as a maternity/newborn bundle. Please contact me today to inquire, as my summer and fall months are already booking up! email@example.com
